Mrs. Butler was retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula and was a member of Hurley United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Edwin H. and Ella Goff Carter; and four brothers.
Mrs. Butler is survived by her children Brenda Milam, Connie and Don Dubose, Richard and Judy Carter and James and Mattie Carter; grandchildren, Eugene and Jo Lavender, Valerie and Rocky Scarbrough, Melissa and Doug Jones, Laurie Emmons, Sparky Dubose, Alvis Dubose, Felicia and John Cope, Patty and Doug Gautier, Elliot Carter, Devere and Donna Carter, Harriet and Ty Golott, Brian Carter; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
