Gilbert Martínez, age 72, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2003.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his father, José S. Martínez, mother, Josefita Martínez, mother-in-law, Demetria A. Lente and sons, Anthony and Danny.
Gilbert is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary, of the family home, sons, John, Anthony, David, Ricky, Pete, Jessie, Gilbert Jr., Anthony Jr., Ray, Manny, G.J. and Jerry, daughters, Debbie, Teresa, Patricia, Rosemary, Barbara and Sylvia, brothers, Willie, Bennie, Joe and Richard, sisters, Margaret, Theresa, Gloria, Nora and Georgia, 29 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, many other friends and family that loved and will miss him.
Services will be at San José Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway Blvd.SE. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at 7:00 p.m., a second Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. A mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 13, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at San José de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Albino, Michael, Eric, Ricky Jr., Victor and Pete.
