Gustave Adolph Haney was the son of Wilhelm and Karoline Emily (Born) Hoehne. Gustve came to the U.S. as a young child with his family first to Winona, MN. He married Bertha Gust Liebenow, a widow with four children: Paul, Max, Adella and Richard. They married on March 8, 1899. They had three children: Elizabeth, Clarence, and Ruth. They farmed in the Casselton area for many years before retiring.
