Hattie Brown Bales, mother of Mrs. Virginia Twombly of Lafayette, Calif., Mrs. Betty Spain of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Margery McDonald of San Diego, Calif.; sister of Irwin Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Mrs. Nellie Drashear? Of Detroit, Mich.; also survived by four grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Wilson & Kratzer El Cerrito Chapel, 616 San Pablo Avenue, Friday, November 21, 1947, at 11 a.m. Committal will follow at Sunset Mausoleum. For further information telephone Landscape 5-1158.

Last Rites Today For Mrs. H. B. Bales
EL CERRITO, Nov. 21.—Funeral services are to be held at 11 a.m. today for Mrs. Hattie Brown Bales, 64, who died Tuesday at her home, 1919 Walnut Avenue, Berkeley.
A native of Lebanon, Indiana, she had resided in California for 24 years, and in this area for the past several years.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Twombly of Lafayette, principal of a San Pablo grammar school; Mrs. Betty Jean Spain of Oakland, and Mrs. Margery McDonald of San Diego; a brother, Irwin Brown of Indiana; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Brashaer, also of Indiana, and four grandchildren.
Committal at Sunset View Mausoleum followed services at Wilson and Kratzer Chapel, 616 San Pablo Avenue.
