Jenny Sue Wiggins

Jenny Sue Wiggins, 56, of Parsons died Tuesday morning, May 20, 2008, at her home. She had been in her usual health and death was not expected.

She was born May 4, 1952, in Coronado, Calif., to James B. Wiggins Jr. and Carol J. (Knight) Wiggins. As a child, she moved with her family to Parsons, where she attended schools. She was a 1970 graduate of Parsons High School and was a cheerleader and participated in track. She later earned a nursing degree from Columbia University.

Through the years, she worked for Air Ambulance in Camarillo, Calif., and later at Mercy Hospital in the trauma unit in San Diego. She had the distinguished honor of being the first flight nurse in California. In 1996, she returned to Parsons. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and listening to music.

She married Clinton Parks Wright in 1969. They later divorced.

Survivors include her mother, Carol Wiggins of Parsons; two sons, Shawn Cole of Wichita and Frank Cruz of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a daughter, Brandi Nichole of Portland, Ore.; a brother, Bill Wiggins of Andover; and two sisters, Donna Yeoman of Parsons and Ruth Wiggins of Parsons.

She was preceded in death by her father, James B. Wiggins Jr., and a brother, James P. Wiggins.

Following cremation, a memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Parsons Arboretum.
