Mrs. Myrtle Wert Succumbs at 80;
Last Rites Monday.
Mrs. Myrtle K. Wert, 80, of Rt. 4, Marion,
died at 4:40 yesterday afternoon in the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Charles (Mariam) Parcher
of Monnett. Mrs. Wert had been in failing health
for the past several years.
Born Feb 23, 1881 in Waterloo, Pa., Mrs. Wert
was the daughter of James B. and Katheryn
Orr Rice. She was married April 26, 1899 to
Rahland B. Wert who preceded her in death
on Sept. 8, 1947.
A member of the Kirkpatrick Methodist
Church, Mrs. Wert had resided in this area
since her childhood.
Surviving besides her daughter are three sons,
the Rev. Donald Wert of Youngstown, Earl M.
Wert and Junior B. Wert of Monnett, 11
grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a
brother, E.L. Rice of Pittsburgh. One son, two
brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday
in the Wise Funeral Home. The Rev. Stanley
Robinson of Greenwich, O., will officiate and
burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Calling
hours will be observed Sunday afternoon and
evening at the funeral home.
