BODY OF ACCIDENT VICTIM RECOVERED FROM THE RIVER.
Rocco Nigro Hurled from Automobile as It Climbs to Top of Hoisted Jack-knife Bridge.

The body of Rocco Nigro, the man who vanished late Wednesday night when an automobile climbed to the gap of the open basoule bridge over the river at North Halsted street, was recovered from the water yesterday.

Charles Bakis, who drove the car, has been charged with manslaughter on the allegation that he was driving the automobile while intoxicated. He was released on $9,000 bonds.

Several persons saw Nigro either fall of leap from the car as it climbed the ascending bridge, but none saw him fall in the water. When he could not be found after the accident the police were notified and started to drag the river.

A brother and sister of the dead man were on a nearby dock when the police brought the body to the surface. Policeman had to hold them to restrain them from jumping into the water. Nigro was 44 years old and a macaroni salesman. He lived at 802 South Racine avenue.
