MANASSAS, Va. ? Sara Ruth Hemphill Ariail, 98, of Manassas, formerly of Toccoa, Ga., died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at Prince William Hospital in Manassas.
A daughter of the late Henry Jackson and Ellis Fulbright Hemphill, she was born on July 8, 1906, in Franklin County, living most of her life in Stephens County and the past four years in Manassas. She was a graduate of Eastanollee High School and was retired from Coats & Clark. She grew up in Sunshine United Methodist Church and later became a member of the First Baptist Church of Toccoa and was a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leland Ariail.
Survivors include a son, James Leland Arial Jr. of Manassas; two grandchildren; a brother, Henry Jordan Hemphill Jr. of Atlanta; and a sister, Lois Manley of Atlanta.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church by the Rev. Richard Hemphill officiating.
The family is at the home of James Patterson, 332 Wesley Drive, Toccoa, and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Toccoa, 601 Tugalo St., Toccoa, Ga. 30577, in memory of Sara Ruth Hemphill Ariail.
Interment will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
