Son of Thomas Rowe and Esther Brownson, George married Carrie Lewin in Oxford Ontario on the 11th of June 1887. They headed to Manitoba where they homesteaded in the Floradale School District, settling at Swan River in 1915. George left Manitoba and moved to British Columbia after the death of his wife in 1923. One daughter, Mabel, married Frederick Rose and stayed in Swan River. The other three; Myrtle, Mrs. John Abraham; Ethel, Mrs. Keith Morrison; and Wynona, Mrs. Arnold McLean, settled in the Vancouver area.
