She retired from Laughlin Memorial Hospital, where she was a nurse.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of Overlook Drive Free Will Baptist, where she attended as long as her health permitted.
Her family stated, "She will be missed by her family who loved her very much. She will never be forgotten. She is now in the loving care of God."
She was the widow of Vincent Anderson.
Survivors include her daughter: Mary Jo Starnes of Greeneville, with whom she made her home for years; her son: Wayne Cook of Texas; two granddaughters: Rebecca Starnes Phillips of Greeneville and Paulette Starnes Bellamy of Church Hill; a "beloved and precious" great-grandson: Hayden Starnes of Church Hill; a stepson: Ronald Anderson of Griffin, Ga.; a stepgranddaughter: Debra Pannell of Rogersville; a stepgrandson: Kim Starnes of the Union Temple community; a stepgreat-granddaughter: Felisha Jaynes of Limestone; two stepgreat-grandsons: Robert Starnes and Matt Starnes, both of Union Temple; two stepgreat-great-granddaughters: Shawna Jaynes and Rebecca Jaynes, both of Limestone; a brother: Marion Cook of Asheville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Laura Bowman Cook and was preceded in death by three brothers: Carl Cook, Alex Cook, and Grant Cook.
The family received friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Kiser Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Dwayne Steele and the Rev. Ray Fletcher will officiate.
Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Michael Bellamy, William Pannell, Kim Starnes, Robert Starnes, Matt Starnes, and Shawn Jaynes.
