My grandma Stella Eloise Bruder, was born Stella Eloise Cantrell in New Mexico on April 26, 1928 in Albuquerque to Benjamin Franklin Cantrell and Ina Bell Cantrell (Morris). She went to be with the lord on January 12, 2013, and was living in Weiser, Idaho at the time of her death.

She was married three times. The first marriage was with William Stanley. With this marriage, she gave birth to my aunt Verbie Lee in 1948 (who passed from cancer in 2010). She divorced and she married my grandfather Harley Everett Nauditt in 1952. Soon after, my mother Susan was born in 1953 and younger brother Charles in 1957. They lived in Ritzville, Washington at this time. She divorced Harley in 1968 and by then had moved to Chewelah, Washington where she met and married Kenneth Lee Bruder in Colville in 1969 and divorcing in 1976.

Stella moved numerous times to be near one of her children, first near daughter Susan and her family, then Charles and eventually ended up living in Weiser, Idaho near her daughter Verbie and Verbies husband Jerome, where she remained for the rest of her life.

She was a great grandmother. My brother and I would take turns spending the night at her apartment and she had babysat us more then once. She even stayed with me when my parents went to Disneyland when I was a freshman in high school. It was fun spending time with grandma before she moved!

She was very crafty. She made several things. She has made Care Bears, which I still have one. She made Christmas socks for the whole family too (except my daughter Skylar..she was not doing well by this time, but my mom made one for her). I have one of her windchimes that I have hung out on my porch. It is one of the first things hung up every time I move. I need to restring though as the string is wearing out.

Grandma started having health problems. We thought we would lose her a couple times, but she always bounced back..she surprised us all! Her problems eventually had her having to live in the nursing home in Weiser. My cousin Shawn works there, so he was always checking in on grandma. It was great having family around to keep an eye on her!

The last week of her life though, she started having problems again, and she fought a good battle, but the lord had different plans and took her on on January 12th, 2013. She is now among the angels and no longer having her problems. She was cremated, and in the Spring, her ashes will be brought to Chewelah, Washington and she will be buried with her mother Ina.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, infant brother Kenneth, her daughter Verbie and her son-in-law Jerome.

She is survived by her daughter Susan and her husband David of Colville, son Charles of Chewelah, her grandchildren Shawn and his children Timothy, Holly and Samantha, Christopher and his wife Sherry and their children Cherrisy and Kaysie, Misty and her husband Robert and their children Destiny and Skylar, Nicole and her husband Lucious and their daughter Latisha, Richard and his children Allie and Gage, and other grandaughter Brandi.
