Mary A. Dowell, 95, of Old Lebanon Road, Campbellsville, died Monday, July 6, 1998, in Campbellsville
Daughter of the late John B. Rucker and Loretta Susan Stubbs Rucker, she was born in Taylor County, Ky. on Sept. 6, 1902, and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church,
She was married to R. Garnett Dowell on Dec. 24, 1919, who preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 1987.
Dowell is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Corinne and William J. Allen of Campbellsville and Christine Guy of San Bernadino, Calif, one granddaughter and one grandson, Suasan Miller of Long Beach, Calif., and Dr. William D. Allen of Raleigh, N.C.; five great-grandchildren, Thomas Milsap of Yorba Linda, Calif., Amand Miller and Madelyn Miller of Long Beach, Calif., David Allen of Raleigh, N.C., and Janice Allen of Corpus Christi, Texas; and three great-great-grandchildren, Alexander Millsap of Yoba Linda, Calif., and Emily Gonzales and Ryan Cody Allen of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Graveside service was at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 9 at Brookside Cemetery in Campbellsville by Dr. James Jones and Dr. J. Chester Badgett.
Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the R. G. and Mary A. Dowell Scholarship Fund at Campbellsville University.
