Mrs. Boyd was born July 29, 1927, in Benton, the daughter of William Merritt Learned and Cora Mae (Cook) Learned.
She married William Boyd on June 21, 1963, and he preceded her in death Dec. 20, 1990.
Mildred worked at several local businesses, including General Electric, F.W. Woolworth, Bank of Benton, and, most recently, West City Walmart as a door greeter. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and bowling.
Surviving relatives include three nieces, Barbara (Melvin) Dixon of Benton, Brenda (Larry) Eubanks of Benton and Melissa Learned of Marion; two nephews, Thomas "TJ" Learned of Benton and Loren Beau (Cheryl) Boyd of Benton; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Guy Learned, Harold Learned Sr. and William "Billy" Learned; and one sister, Pauline Graham.
Services will be at 2 p. m. Sunday, Jan. 13, in Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home and Crematory in Benton, with Pastor Eddie Paul Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p. m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Franklin County Animal Shelter, 13163 Oddfellow Lane, Benton, IL 62812 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
