He was active as a member and officer of the Culleoka Lodge of the Woodemen of the World, served on the County Road Committee and the Culleoka School Board for a number of years. In 1915 he married Lectie Campbell, daughter of the late Charles T. Campbll whose family came to Princeton from Woodbury, Tennessee. Their marriage ceremony was a double ceremony along with Mr. and Mrs. Dick Young of Culleoka, with the Reverand Abe Enloe presiding. They lived on their farm a mile southwest of Culleoka. They were the parents of three children: Wayne, Charles Clifford and Strelsa (Pat). The couple retired in Princeton in 1933.
The woman in the photograph is his half sister Nannie (Nancy Cornelia) Graves Housmon on her wedding day to Claude Sylvester Housmon. He stood in for his late father and gave the bride away.
