DEERING, NH -- Mrs. Bernardine A. Blanchard, 82, of Deering, NH, died on Friday afternoon, January 1, 2010, at the Harris Hill Center in Concord, NH.
Mrs. Blanchard was born in Pittsburg, NH, on December 1, 1927, a daughter of Carmi Hicks and Marion [Day] Hicks. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1946 and married Roy G. Blanchard that same year.
Bernardine worked many places in her life, including for E-Pack producing electronic circuit boards, and she retired from the production line at Brookstone in Peterborough, NH. She enjoyed taking care of her husband and family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister.
She is survived by two sons, Gregory A. Blanchard, Sr. and wife, Phyllis, of Pittsfield, NH, and John R. Blanchard of Henniker, NH; a daughter, Cynthia Christian and husband, Keith, of Antrim, NH; three sisters, Regena M. Rodrique, Ervena Dorman and Mona Haynes, all of Pittsburg, NH; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Blanchard is preceded in death her husband, Roy, in 2007; a son, Eric Blanchard; an infant son, Dennis; and two sisters, Irene Harriman and Verna Hicks.
At the family's request, there are no calling hours. A graveside service will be conducted in the spring at the family plot in the Hollow Cemetery in Pittsburg, NH.
