Dec. 16, 1925 ~ Dec. 7, 2012
Kenneth Leaver Tingey, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on December 7, 2012 after a grueling fight with post-polio syndrome. He was born on December 16, 1925 to Stanley James Tingey and Eva Leaver in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ken was diagnosed with polio at the age of 14. After his recovery he worked tirelessly to achieve his Eagle Scout Award, but was denied in the end because he was unable to complete his Life Saving Badge. In the last few years of his life he needed constant care until he passed away.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margie, his infant sons David and John, a granddaughter and a great granddaughter.
Ken is survived by his sons Kenneth, Jr. (Candice), James (Anna), daughters Rebecca, Eva Millie (Ray), Jenny (Bill), Cynthia (Stan), and his sister Marilyn.
