Services for Jo Helen Akins, age 71, will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2002 at Reed's Chapel in Lexington. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery in Wildersville. Mrs. Akins died Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Vernon Akins of Wildersville; mother, Opal Olive of Wildersville; two sons, Eddie Akins and wife, Lori of Lexington and Marty Akins of Wildersville; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Akins of Nashville and Lorrie Robyn Akins of Lexington. Pallbearers to serve will be Bobby Olive, James Wood, Dwight Blankenship, Todd Pulliam, Howell Clements, Phil Swindle, Mike Dickson, Robert Kizer and Gregg Akins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Wildersville Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Today from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.
