Paul John Meiners was born August 23, 1908 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio the son and fifth of seven children who survived early infancy and childhood (out of about thirteen born) of George Gerard Meiners and Clara H. Estermann Meiners. In 1930 he accompanied his father, mother, and siblings Eleanor and Roger on a trip to Europe.
In 1940 he married Margaret Mary Schaible Meiners, and they had six children: George Gerard Meiners, II, Roger Schaible Meiners, Barbara Ann Meiners Dickson Nelson, Paul John Meiners, Jr., Mary Paula Meiners Thompson, and Margaret Mary "Maggie" Meiners Bunch.
Paul died at age 73 on November 29, 1981 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas and is buried in Cincinnati's Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery near his wife. His ancestry was German.
