Roni was born in Paris, France to Veronica and Jean Morel. After moving to the U.S., she grew up in San Antonio, where she graduated from Incarnate Word High School in 1950. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1953, and on June 11, 1954 married Adolph H. "Buddy" Giesecke in Galveston, Texas. Roni is a long time member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Irving, worked tirelessly in numerous political campaigns, and served over the years in many volunteer roles, including as a Board Member of Texas Medical Association Political Action Committee, as President of the Irving Republican Women's Club, officer of Dallas County Council of Republican Women, and Authority Trustee of Baylor Irving Medical Center. She was also an avid gardener and tennis player. Roni is preceded in death by her husband Buddy and her parents. She is survived by her children Carl Giesecke and wife Debra of Flower Mound, Suzanne Zarling and husband Kevin of Austin, Martin Giesecke and wife Susan of Dallas, and Hans Giesecke and wife Kelly of Richardson, and her grandchildren Christian, Gabrielle and Aidan Giesecke, Keenan Zarling and Kristofer and wife Megan Zarling. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19th at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Irving with The Rev. Gail N. Gateley as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 2700 Warren Circle, Irving, TX 75062.
