Mr. Wells served in the British 8th Army under the command of Lieutenant General Bernard Montgomery during World War II. Known as the Desert Rats, the 8th Army was instrumental in routing Mussolini's plans to create a stronghold in North Africa as a vantage point to provide Egypt's oil and other critical supplies to Axis forces in the European theater.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there;
I did not die.

Update; July 8, 2017: Today Norman's very special little guy, Louie, joined him in the world beyond. I would like to think of you both happy to have been reunited and free of your earthly limitations; running together and playing ball and all the things you may have once so enjoyed doing together. may both of you rest in peace. ♥x♥
