Benjamin Niederman was the son of Nathan Niederman. Nathan Niederman was born about 1820 in Antalocz, Hungary which is now part of the Ukraine. His mother's name is not known at this time. She and Nathan were married 1844 in Antalocz. Benjamin's siblings were Jacob, Regina, Avraham ‘Albert' and Hannah Niederman.

Benjamin was born June 1853 in Ungvar, Hungary according to his Death Certificate and Census Records. Benjamin married Rosa Herzog about 1873 in Hungary. Rosa was born December 20, 1851 in Ungvar, Hungary according to her Death Certificate and Census Records.

Their children were Moritz (Maurice) Jacob, Regina O., Malvina D., Leo Herzog, Gertrude and Sara C. Niederman

Benjamin immigrated to the United States in 1888 and settled in Chicago, Illinois. Rosa with their six children then arrived in the United States aboard the ship Amalfi on May 20, 1895.

Benjamin became a Furniture Dealer in Chicago until he retired about 1920 and his son Leo took over the business.

Benjamin died May 8, 1931 in Chicago and is laid to rest in the Waldheim Cemetery. Rosa joined her husband in death on April 5, 1935 and is laid to rest beside Benjamin.
