Dora L. (Deerberg) Allen, 97, passed away, December 15, 2012 at Manor Care South in Indianapolis.
She was born October 4, 1915 in Franklin Township, Marion County, Indiana and was a lifelong resident.
Dora retired from Western Electric in Indianapolis in 1977 following 26 years service.
She was a lifelong member of Zion United Church of Christ and was a member of Pioneers of Western Electric.
Dora loved reading and being with family. She was loved and will be missed. She taught us all to laugh, love and forgive.
Survivors include three children, Donna (husband, Larry) Clark of Indianapolis, Robert (wife, LInda) Allen of Indianapolis, and Benjamin (wife, Pat) Allen of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two sisters, Laura Nicoson of Indianapolis and Gertrude Hilton of the Indianapolis area; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton "Andy" and Amelia (Schaekel) Deerburg; and two brothers, Elmer Deerberg and Woodrow Deerberg.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Rosegate Assited Living, St. Francis Hospital and St. Francis Hospice for their compassion and care.
Services: 2 P.M., Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Stirling- Gerber Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Rd., Indianapolis, Indiana 46237 with Reverend Beverly Kahle officiating. Burial will follow in Acton Cemetery.
