Samuel A. Carr, 85, a truck farmer of 406 North 82nd St. died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday in his home after a brief illness. A resident of East St. Louis for 34 years, Mr. Carr was born in Alabama and had farmed most of his life. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lulu Carr: three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Walker, Mrs. Ada Wescott and Mrs. Nellie Dingerson; son Ervin Carr all of East St. Louis; two brothers J.H. Ridgway and Richard Ridgway; sister Mrs. Ellen Heern. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Kassly Chapel with burial in Valhalla burial park. Rev. C.D. Bowman officiating.
