He was born in Helenwood, Tennessee on October 8, 1941 the son of the late Kan and Flora Mae (Trammell) Baird. He was a home health CNA and member of the Marshes Siding Church of God.
His parents; wife, Betty (Cooper) Baird; daughter, Sandra Keith and husband, Donald; and sister in law, Sue Baird precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Tucker) Keith Baird of Strunk, Kentucky; sons, Jeff Baird and wife, Denise of Revelo, Kentucky and Timothy Baird and wife, Rhonda of Strunk, Kentucky; brother, Charles Baird of Georgetown, Kentucky; and sister, Anna Sharp and husband, Richard of Goshen, Ohio. 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren also survive.
