Rensselaer Lady Dies At Wabash Valley
Miss Lula May Keister Succumbs Following Year's Illness; Funeral Here Thursday
Miss Lula May Keister, a life-long resident of Rensselaer and nearby areas and highly esteemed in the life of the community, passed away at Wabash Valley Sanitorium at 4 o'clock this morning. She entered that hospital center last March 1. Her death followed a slow decline that began more than a year ago.
Born in Jordan township April 12, 1884, Miss Keister was a lifetime resident here. She was a daughter of James A. Keister and Margaret (Timmons) Keister. She was educated at Jordan school and her early adult life was spent in that community. Later she came to Resselaer for residence.
The immediate survivors are a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Havens of Rensselaer, two brothers, Leonard Keister of Rensselaer and Everett Keister of Westville, N.J. and a step-sister, Mrs. Victoria Schumaker of Rensselaer.
The funeral services will be held from Jackson Funeral Chapel at two o'clock Thursday with the Rev. Carl Bosse of the Methodist church conducting the rites. Interment will be at Welsh cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel after 7 o'clock Wednesday evening.
