Mrs. Lucy Wilson Blissett, age 55 of Oak Park, died Thursday, December 13, 2012 at her home after an extended illness.
She was a native of Emanuel County, living in Atlanta for thirteen years and in Oak Park most of her life. She worked for the State of Georgia as a case worker for several years, was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Oak Park, and was preceded in death by her father, Junior Wilson.
Mrs. Blissett is survived by her husband, Danny Blissett of Oak Park; a step-daughter, Brittney Leigh Blissett; her mother, Edith Wilson of Oak Park; one brother, Donald Wilson of Oak Park; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, December 15th at 11:00 am in the Solomon Williamson Cemetery near Oak Park with Van Phillips and Reverend Ronnie Register officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00. In lieu of flowers, Lucy suggested memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church of Oak Park, c/o DoRee Phillips, 409 West Ninth St., Vidalia GA 30474.
