ROCKFORD - Icle Wallack Brauer, 91, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 2, 2001. Born May 23, 1909, in Centralia, Ill., daughter of William and Grace (Sharp) McConnaughay. Married James Wallack on Oct. 8, 1927 he died Dec. 11, 1952. Married Laurence Brauer in February 1954 he died Nov. 3, 1968. Member of First Baptist Church and was active with Child Evangelism Fellowship.
Survivors include her son, Jim (Wava) Wallack of Montana three daughters, Beverly Wallack, Rogene Gessner and Sue (Sam) Schiro, all of Rockford stepdaughter, Harriett (Ellsworth) Rupp of New York two stepsons, Brad (Marty) Brauer and Dale (Becky) Brauer, both of Roscoe 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren brother, Bill McConnaughay of Arizona three sisters, Daisy Woods and Helen Strole, both of Arizona, and Ellen Zillhart of Rockford 17 stepgrandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by sisters Flossie, Fleta, Eunie brother, Ted grandson, Randy Whitaker son-in-law, Ron Gessner and stepdaughter, Nita Carlson.
Services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, with the Rev. Scott Williquette, senior pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 1 p.m. to service time Tuesday. Memorials to First Baptist Church and Rockford Rescue Mission. 3-4-2
