Cockrill, who came to Texas from Missouri in about 1852 and Sarah Wier born Mississippi, daughter of John Allen Wier and Margaret Carpenter Wier, who moved from Mississippi to Fayette County, Texas in the 1850's decade. Bluford was born and lived in and around Cistern, Fayette County, and Jeddo, Bastrop County, Texas until the latter half of 1920's when the family moved to San Antonio, Texas.

The 1900 Justice Precint 2, Bastrop County, Texas census lists Bluford Cockrill age 23 born April 1877 and Mary R. Cockrill age 20 born Feb 1880; married 1898, they did not list any children.

The 1910 Justice Precinct 2, Bastrop County, Texas census lists B. E. Cockrill age 32, Rhonda age 30, Inez age 08, Alvis age 06, and Exa age 02.

Rhonda Elizabeth Cockrill died 25 February 1917 and is buried in Jeddo Cemetery, Bastrop County, Texas, FAG 38354602.
