LONGVIEW — Agnes J. Mayers, age 75, died Nov. 2, 2012, in Longview. She was born May 1, 1937, in Ravenden, Ark., to Henry and Mary Smith. She and Harley D. Mayers Sr., were married in 1951 in San Diego, Calif.

She had lived in Ocean Park for the past 16 years. Prior to retirement she worked as a housekeeper and caregiver. She loved working in the garden and with her plants and crocheted beautiful afghans. She also volunteered at the Ocean Park Food Bank.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Zakutney of Ocean Park; four sons, Harley, Daniel and William of Ocean Park and David of Jamul, Calif.; her sisters, Evelyn, Dorothy, Alice, Donna and Nancy; four brothers, James, Don, Pete and Richard; grandchildren, Charles, Jasen, Jessica, Jennifer, Harley III, Breezy, BilliJo, Crystal and Andrew and 22 great-grandchildren. Her husband, a brother, Alvin Smith, granddaughter, Veronica L. Nation and a grandson, William T. Mayers Jr., preceded her in death.

Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Nov. 18 at the Artisan at 114 Main Street SW, in Ilwaco.
