Leslie is the loving wife of Michael " Mick", whom she married on October 4, 1986; the devoted mother of Clinton Martin and Catherine Irene, and step-mother of Philip Michael; the cherished sister of Mike (Shirley) Gagnon of St. Clair Shores, Mary (Howard) Whiting of Washington and Joseph (Linda) Watt of Williamsburg and sister in law, Sally LaRose of St. Clair Shores; several nieces and nephews; and too many friends to be named.
Preceding Leslie in death are her brothers, Patrick, Richard and Marty.
Leslie had a gregarious personality that was infectious. She loved people, life and never knew a stranger. No topic of conversation was off limits. As a pioneer "soccer mom", she was also a "scouting mom", "dance mom", and "basketball mom". Leslie enjoyed all aspects of her kids' lives and was in it for the long haul. Whatever her kids were involved in, Leslie was there. At the Community Theater Project, in her last play, she ended up starring as ‘Miss Lynch', in Grease.
As the office secretary at the Kalkaska Middle School, she loved being around kids. Only Leslie could tell a teenager that they were dressed inappropriately and have them laughing about it, knowing they had to change. Leslie had previously worked as a computer tech at the Kalkaska High School and at McLean's Hardware. Earlier in her life she worked for Avery's Restaurant , Hole in the Wall Restaurant and Nick's Restaurant. Leslie was also a past council member for Kalkaska Village. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov 29th from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday from 1:00 until 4:00 pm and 6:00 until 9:00 pm at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Kalkaska Church of Christ with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
