Marion Florence O'Toole on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at 10:00 p.m. Daughter of the late William Patrick O'Toole and Corinne Trapolin O'Toole. Sister of William F. O'Toole, Joan O'Toole Harvey, Mary Rose O'Toole Angel, the late Corinne O'Toole Rowell, Dolores O'Toole Fordham, Helen O'Toole Dearie and Madelyn O'Toole Hendricks. Survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A native of and lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. Ms. O'Toole was an elementary teacher in the New Orleans School System for over 37 years, at prestigious Robert M. Lusher School in Uptown New Orleans. She numbered among her former students, two past Mayors of New Orleans, and several other illustrious civic and cultural leaders of the city. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University. Ms. O'Toole traveled in the summer months, five summers in Vermont and New Hampshire and one in Mexico. Two years before retiring she took a sabbatical leave spending a year in Europe. In retirement she was happy to remain at home in her charming vintage 1812 cottage in the French Quarter. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the company of friends and family. A Mass was celebrated in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Interment was in the family tomb in Metairie Cemetery.
