Joseph Worby, 82, died Jan. 21 at the Humboldt Care Center.
Services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Methodist church at LuVerne with Rev. Roy Beisemeyer officiating.
Committal services were held at Crown Hill cemetery at Ruthven at 2 p.m., with Blake Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were L. C. Wittmeier, Harold Ristau, Harold Nielsen, Sr., Dennis Carroll, Paul Phillips, and Cliff Richardson.
Born May 17, 1885 at Dwight, Ill., he was a son of Lu Vas Berndt and Thomas Worby. He was married Dec. 31, 1907 at Dwight, Ill., to Grace Olson. He farmed and lived in the LuVerne community since 1918.
Surviving are two sons, Harold and Joseph, Jr. and one daughter, Bernice, all at home and a sister and a brother.
His wife, two infant sons, his parents and one sister preceded him in death.

OBITUARY:
Joseph W. Worby, 82, a retired LuVerne farmer, died at the Humboldt Care Center Sunday morning. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Methodist church in LuVerne and committal services were in the Crown Hill Cemetery at Ruthven.
The Rev. Roy A. Beisemeyer, pastor of the LuVerne Methodist church, officiated. The Blake funeral home was in charge.
Survivors are two sons and a daughter, Harold, Joseph Jr., and Miss Bernice, all of LuVerne; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Huber, Amsterdam, Mo.; a brother, Milton, Oronoco, Minnesota.
Born in Dwight, Ill., Mr. Worby came to LuVerne in 1918 where he farmed. In 1907 he married Grace Olson there. Mrs. Worby preceded him in death in 1940.
