Debra Jean Ambrose died peacefully at her home on November 19th, after an eight-month battle with cancer.

She was born January 30, 1954 in San Francisco, California, to Ralph and Ora Mae LaForce. She was the fourth of five children. She grew up in Santa Rosa, California and graduated from Piner High School.

She met Michael Ambrose in 1972 and they were married August 12th the same year. They have one son, Russell Ambrose. They also have one grandson, Roscoe Ambrose.

Debra lived in Alameda and Long Beach, CA while Michael was overseas in the Navy. After that they moved to Las Vegas, NV for 3 years and finally to Boise in 1979. Boise/Meridian remained their home of choice until her death.

She managed childcare centers at multiple locations for several years. She worked for Idaho Power Company for nine years in the HR department.

She cared for her grandson five days a week till he started school. Since 1997 she has spent countless hours caring for her mother, father and Michael's mother. She had a giving spirit, a great sense of humor and never stopped till she had something done right.

Debra's 28 year involvement in Beta Sigma Phi sorority was a special part of her life. She enjoyed special friendships, positions she held and involvement in projects.

Debra is survived by her husband, Michael; son, Russell (Marla); grandson, Roscoe; mother, Ora Mae; sisters, Carol, Linda and Gayle (Patrick); and brother, Brian.

Her father, Ralph, preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on December 8th at the King of Glory Lutheran Church at 3430 North Maple Grove Road, Boise.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to or to St. Luke's Hospice in Debra's name at 190 E. Bannock, Boise Idaho 83712.
