OBITUARY :
LYNN RAY AMSLEY, former owner of the Midway Tavern along Route 40 west of Hagerstown, died at his home, Williamsport Route Two, yesterday at 6:10 a.m. He had been ill a long time. He was 61.

Born and reared at Mercersburg, he was a son of John and Jane Heingbaugh Amsley.

He was a member of the Williamsport E.U.B. Church, BPO Elks No. 378 of Hagerstown, Loyal Order of Moose No. 212 of Hagerstown, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1758 of Waynesboro, and Eagles Inc. of Waynesboro.

Surviving are: wife, Irene Kesselring Amsley; son, Richard Ray of Waynesboro; step-son, Paul R. Slifer of San Mateo, Calif.; step-daughter, Mrs. Margaret Rutyh of Williamsport; brother, Raymond of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sisters, Mrs. Daisy Mentzer of Carlisle, Pa.; Mrs. John Sampson, Mishawaka, Indiana; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at Suter-Rouzer Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Ankerbrand. Burial in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday 7 to 9 p.m.
