..Funeral services were held February 26 in the Northwest Community College Gym for longtime NWCC basketball coach Henry F. (Hank) Cabre.
..Mr. Cabre, 60 died February 23 after a short illness. the Rev. Edward M. Walsh of St. John's Episcopal church officiated at services. Burial with military honors was in Monument Hill cemetery at Thermopolis.
..Born July 8, 1922 at Denver Colo., he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Cabre. He grew up in Thermopolis where he graduated from high school in 1940.
..He was married to Amy Lee Davies in Bennettsville, S.C. on Nov. 4, 1943. As a veteran of World War II, he was a paratrooper and was wounded in the Allied invasion of Normandy.
..After the war, he earned his associate degree at NWCC where he was a member of the college's first basketball team in 1946-47. He earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Wyoming and his master's degree at Eastern Montana College.
..His coaching career spanned 32 years: nine years at Thermopolis Junior High, Three years at Cody High School, and 20 years at NWCC. He retired in March of 1980 to become director of development and federal compliance officer at NWCC.
