Dolly was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on February 3, 1917 to Clara and Ernest Hocking. During Dolly's early childhood her family lived in Moore, Idaho and later spent time in Compton, California before returning to the Lost River Valley.
On February 23, 1937 Dolly married Joseph L. Ausich. They made their home in Mackay, Idaho where they owned and operated the Main Theatre and the MarJo. Dolly also worked at the 3L Café, Lost River Café, Birkens Drug, Arco School Systems, and the Mackay School Library. She was an excellent seamstress, a devoted gardener and homemaker.
In 1993 Dolly suffered a paralyzing stroke, leaving her unable to speak. Since that time she had been a resident of the Lost Rivers Care Center in Arco.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ausich; two grandchildren, Stephanie Ausich and Jason Walker; and siblings, Myrtle, Mary, Dorothy, Pat, Clayton, Jean, Glen and Bill.
She is survived by her children, Joe (Barbara) Ausich of Moscow, Idaho and Mariann Walker of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Michael Ausich of Seattle, Washington and Matthew Walker of Las Vegas, Nevada; a brother, Frank Hocking of Lewiston, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday November 17, 2012 at the Mackay LDS Church, 531 Spruce Street, Mackay, Idaho. Family will meet with friends and relatives one hour prior to the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Mackay LDS Church. Interment will be at the Mount McCaleb Cemetery on Bar Road in Mackay.
Funeral services are under the care of the Hawker Lost River Funeral Chapel.
