Sylvia was born in Caborca, Sonora Mexico on July 10, 1951.
On January 3, 1969 she married the love of her life, Juan F. Avila and October 19, 1970 their first born child, Carlos F. Avila was born. Nine years later, on August 29, their son Rodrigo Avila joined their lives. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, and caring aunt.
Silvia was known by her community for her friendly and charitable self. To her it didn't matter if she knew someone personally or not, if someone was in need, she would simply show up to offer her help. Her priority in life was the happiness of her children.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her father, Raul Meza; mother, Carmen Meza; son, Carlos F. Avila and sister, Josefina Olguin.
Sylvia is survived by her husband, Juan F. Avila; sons, Rodrigo Avila and Adrian Meza.
Viewing services and mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Holtville, CA. Viewing services will be on Wednesday, November 14th from 6 to 9 p.m. and mass on Thursday, November 15th at 9 a.m. with burial immediately following at Terrace Park Cemetery in Holtville, CA.
