MARY RAMEY ASTORE
Of 2400 6th Ave., died at her home at 1:20 p.m., yesterday, Dec. 28, 1969. after an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 22, 1887, in the Province of Teramo, Italy, a daughter of Flaviano and Celeste Raggiero, and was twice married, First in 1909 in Italy to John DiRemiggio, who died Feb. 19, 1943, then Dec. 11, 1956, to Francesco Astore, who died Nov. 12, 1968.
Surviving are nine children born to the first marriage: Jack of Detriot, Michigan, Mrs. Viola Laganella, Mrs. Amelia Pasquini, Mrs. Helen Change, Mrs. Jeanne Figurella and Mrs. Loretta Ceglar of Altoona, William of Lancaster, Albert of Richmond, Va., and Annie of San Diego, Calif.; four step-children: Patsy of Baltimore, Mrs. Julia Roselle, Ralph and Mrs. Mary Letteri of Altoona; 27 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a brother, Joseph of Rome, Italy.
Mrs. Astore had resided in Altoona for the past 60 years.
She was a member of Mount Caarmel Catholic Church, Rudolph Valentino Lodge, St. John Baptist Femininem Abruzzese, Buccinese and St. Anthony Societies.
Friends will be received in the Santella Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.
