Cora Mae Waterworth Bancroft was born in Randolph, Wisconsin on October 24, 1875. She married Arthur Bancroft on December 11, 1895 and the couple moved to a farm in Grover Wisconsin. He died in October 1942. She was a member of Harmony Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards and her favorite was '500', Canasta and pinochle.
