George Curtis Noel, 63, who had been employed at Coulson Heel and Innersole Company, Hanover, the past 47 years, died Monday at 2:30 p.m. at his home in Centennial, Hanover, after a seven-week illness.
A son of the late Howard J. and Victoria Noel, he was a member of Scared Heart Basilica, Centennial Fire Company, McSherrystown Fish and Game Association and Hanover Home Association. His wife, Beatrice Hagerman Noel, died July 2, 1951.
Surviving are five children, John J. Noel, Sarasota, Fla.; Mrs. Paul; Spangler and Mrs. Karl Kuykendall, both of York; Mrs. Glenn Young, Hanover and Mrs. Robert McIntyre, Hanover; also 16 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and these two brothers and three sisters, Paul Noel, Hanover; Bernard, Marie and Dorothy Noel, all of Hanover and Mrs. Donald Hickenbotton, Mather Air Force Base, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 8:15 a.m. with prayers at the Bucher Funeral Home, Hanover, followed by a Requiem Mass at 8:45 a.m. in Scared Heart Basilica. His pastor, Rt. Rev. Msgr. John P. Bolen, will be celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
