Aged Trimble Woman Dies

Trimble, Ohio, March 5 - Mrs. Mary A. Duffee, 84, a pioneer resident of this village and a lifelong resident of Athens County, died at her home here at 2 o'clock this morning after a several day's critical illness form pneumonia. The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon and burial will be made in the Russell Cemetery. The services will be held here at 2 o'clock in the Christian Church, Athens.
Mrs. Duffee was the widow of the late James Duffee, who died about 8 years ago and who for years was a blacksmith here. James Duffee came here before 1860 from Amesville. For some years he lived on a farm near Albany. The family has always been one of the most highly respected in the county.
Mrs. Duffee left four children - Thomas W. of Athens; J. H., of Columbus; Mrs. Clara Braddock, of Glouster and Mrs. W. B. Johnson, of Athens. One son, George W., died in Athens some months ago.

Mary was the daughter of Thomas and Unknown Croy (sp.?) Vore. The source of her birth place information was the death certificate of her son, James Harvey Duffee.

Mary married James Duffee on November 4, 1847 in Hocking County, Ohio.
