Kenneth Krekel, oldest child and son of William George Krekel (1887-1951) and Loretta Louise (Strabala) Krekel (1890-1943) was born in 1909 in Burlington, Iowa, and died there at the Mercy Hospital in 1950.

He married Ruth E. Senn (1911-2011) in Burlington July 28, 1933. Their son was William Frank "Billy" Krekel. Ruth and Kenneth divorced before 1937. In 1947, about July 7, probably in Lee County, Iowa (when and where the marriage certificate was issued), he married again, to Hattie "Leota" Walker, a native of Louisa County, Iowa.

Kenneth and Leota lived in West Burlington. He worked with his brother in a family business doing automobile painting.

Kenneth developed leukemia, and died of it January 24, 1950 at Mercy Hospital. His funeral and burial were January 27.
