Mrs. Sarah Winters Owens, 86 years old, widow of Samuel W. Owens, died Monday night at Catonsville, after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Owens was born in an old log cabin on the Winters estate, which is still standing, which now is in possession St. Mark's Catholic Church. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Winters and a granddaughter of the late Abraham France, who fought in the Colonial Army, under General Washington.
Mrs. Owens husband, who was a former justice of the peace, died about 10 years ago. One daughter, Mrs. Marsden, wife of Justice Joshua M. Marsden, of the Catonsville Police Station, and two sons, Joshua G. Owens, who is spending the winter in Florida, and Wilkins Owens, of Virgiia, survive.
