Pauline T. Barnabei, 83, of Weirton passed away Friday, October 05, 2012 at her daughter's home.

Born on June 28, 1929 in Westernport, MD, Pauline was the youngest child of the late Giovanni and Cologera Cannistraro SanGiovanni. She was also preceded in death by her husband Earl on March 13, 2003; an infant son Earl Michael; her two brothers, Joseph and Louis SanGiovanni; and her two sisters, Rose Avona and Mary Stein.

Pauline retired after twenty years of service with the Hancock County School System where she was a Teacher's Aid at Dunbar and Weir Middle Schools. In addition to working for the School System, Pauline owned and operated Pauline's Beauty Shop for a number of years.

Pauline was a member and a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, where she was a Christian Mother and served on the Pastoral Council. She also was a member of the Hancock County Retired School Employees.

Surviving include her son, Joseph (Patti) Barnabei of Weirton; her two daughters, Charlotte (Larry) Smedley of Follansbee, WV and Theresa Barnabei of Tucson, AZ; her six grandchildren, Andre (Jessica) Barnabei, Bianca (David Goodwin) Barnabei, Liana (Chris Beightol) Barnabei, Katie (Jeremy) Coyer, Erin (Neil) Convery and Colleen (Toby) Partridge; her eight great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ezekiel, Elizabeth and Benjamin Coyer, Noah, Liam, and Eliza Convery and Giavanna Barnabei; her three sisters-in-law, Mildred SanGiovanni, Margaret Caralla, and Anna Pellegrino; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and caregivers of Serra Village, especially to her "family" at Grace Cottage.

Visitation will be Sunday 1-7pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10am Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Pete Giannamore officiating.

Entombment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
