Eddie Jasper Armstrong, 88, of Elizabeth City, died April 23, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at Antioch Baptist Church, South Mills, Friday, April 29 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Michael Barcliff of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery. Mr. Armstrong was a retired trucker for E.P. Wood of Camden and a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was also a senior usher board. Mr. Armstrong was the son of the late Frank and Hattie Armstrong and the husband of Audrey G. Armstrong. Survivors include: one daughter Yvette Spellman and husband, Victor, of Chesapeake, Va.; one son William C. Armstrong and wife, Mariette of Elizabeth City; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Knight, Hazel Hall and three brothers, George Armstrong, Martin Armstrong and Dubois Armstrong.
