REUBEN MADDOX EXPIRES EARLY TODAY AT HOME
Reuben P. Maddox, age 74, stock buyer and retired farmer, died at 1:50am today at his home, R. F. D. 2, northeast of the city. He had been ill several months. Mr. Maddox was born near Flemingsburg, Ky., and had lived in this vicinity for the past 47 years, He retired from farming about ten years ago and became a buyer of stock. He was a member of the Bethany Chapel Christian Church and the Bethany Brotherhood.
Surviving are a son, Carl M. Maddox, of the same address; four daughters, Mrs. Cecil Clem, of Markleville; Mrs. Blanche Barnes, Mrs. Edith Leap and Mrs. Ruby Cookman, of near Anderson; three brothers, Matthew, Lexington, Ky.; Nelson, Chesterfield, and Emory Maddox, Piqua, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Jones and Mrs. Martha Scott, of Anderson; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The body was taken to the Harold E. Rozelle funeral home and will be returned to the residence tomorrow morning. Funeral rites will be held at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Bethany Chapel church in charge of Rev. J.C. Drake. Burial will be at Memorial Park.
