Walter Saxon originally had a tombstone at Fairview Cemetery which was donated and stands near the entrance as a "marker" for the 'Fairview Burial Grounds'. It is now inscribed "FAIRVIEW BURIAL GROUNDS ROBERT GROVES SOLDIER AND BODY GUARD TO GEORGE WASHINGTON IN THE REVOLUTION WAR DONATED THIS FIRST ACRE OF GROUND TO THE PUBLIC IN 1834, AS THE LAST RESTING PLACE FOR OUR LOVED ONES. THIS CENOTAPH WAS DONATED BY THE HEIRS OF MR. AND MRS. WALTER SAXON.
