|In 1949 a group of Latvians came to Tate County from war-torn Europe. These Latvians were forced to leave their native country, their traditions, lanquage and culture. They worked on farms and in the towns.|
They were educated, married and worshipped here for several years before moving on to more normal life styles. These remarkable people added greatly to our culture.
Their presence here is not forgotten.
