Photo of Potter Memorial Cemetery
Decicated 1958 to The Memory Of William and Lizza Potter who made this Cemetery Possable Owned By The City Of Lepanto // The city of Lepanto on August 19, 1922 bought from William Potter for $1,000, real estate for the Lepanto City Cemetery. In January 1947, additional land was purchased from John & Janie Potter for $1,000 by the city.In 1955, John & Janie Potter sold the city land for the cemetery for $6,750. The city maintains and conducts the affairs of the cemetery. ~ This was taken from the Poinsett County AR History & Families book. I especially wanted to thank you for putting the gate & fence pictures up. My dad is the G.E. "Buck" Guin that was the Chief of Police. Dad is on that and the City Hall and Police Department. I dread it when they start to ever replace those because that will be the end of daddy's record I guess. I hope if they ever do that someone will see that the museum takes them or that they are not replaced completely and may stand next to the new ones because these people worked very hard to see that Lepanto progressed and grew.
