| This cemetery began as the churchyard for Houk's Chapel Methodist Church in 1885. Some time after the 1940's the cemetery was acquired by the City of Hickory, North Carolina, and renamed Fairview Cemetery. The small white church has been restored by Hickory Landmarks Society and is still called Houk's Chapel after its founder, William Kelley Houk, Methodist minister. |
